OSD is a proud sponsor of this year’s Dash for Disabilities, a run/walk fundraising event for The Way. All are welcome to participate in this very worthwhile fundraiser. The Dash will be held at Red Bridge Park, 697 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN on Saturday, May 21st.
But who would have thought that such a worthwhile endeavor could lead to near chaos at the OSD office?
It all started when Pam, our bookkeeper and ringleader for The Dash, asked Barbara, one of our talented designers, to help refurbish a couple Bert and Ernie costumes to be used at the event. Barbara gladly agreed and she placed the costumes in her car. Seems innocent enough. But later that day, another OSD staffer had the unfortunate experience of observing his favorite childhood characters’ bodiless heads strewn about Barbara’s backseat.
What is Barbara doing with Bert and Ernie’s heads? The OSD staffer asked. Where are their bodies? He wondered. How could innocent and well-meaning Barbara do this?
Well, as you can imagine, emails swirled and most of a Friday afternoon was spent on solving this mystery. Long story short, if you need to transport the heads of children’s TV characters, do so undercover.
Event registration will be in the Community Building beginning at 8:00 am; the 5k Run/Walk begins at 9:00 am and a Companion Walk begins at 9:15 am. Registration is $20. Hope to see you there!
