On the 5th of July, Outside Source Design (OSD as
we are often called) celebrates a milestone. We turn 30. Thirty years of design
solutions and trusted customer relationships have created fond memories. We
have seen dramatic changes in how technology impacts our world. We have seen that
the power of a good idea in combination with reliable service remains constant.
We’ve seen the speed of communication and access to information grow rapidly.
At the same time, we believe that good design is worth waiting for because it
proves to be a true differentiator – it allows a message to resonate at a deep
level with audiences of all kinds.
As we look back, we think about our intentions and the
mission of the organization. The founding idea was that good design can make a
difference and good people behind the design can add to the experience of
creativity. We looked for people who had a passion for design and enjoyed
sharing that passion with others. We looked to create a family of creatives who
honored design and appreciated the chance to create something special. Today,
the OSD family includes specialists in the visual as well as the technical and
celebrates strategy as well as execution.
What do we see as we look ahead? Technology and design are
forever linked. The written word is just as much a design element as the
elegance of a logo. The ‘why’ behind a project is just as important as the ‘what.’
Empathy for an audience and an understanding
the message is fertile ground for good design. When design is a priority,
something special happens.
At thirty, there is no mid-life crisis. We look back and
celebrate our steadfast dedication to ideas as well as our support of our
people and the work environment. As we reflect, we take pride in where we have
been, give thanks to those companies who allowed us to be part of their journey
and look ahead to the opportunities of tomorrow.
Thirty years have gone by quickly. We are thankful for the
many yesterdays and look ahead to the opportunities of tomorrow. Here’s to
another thirty!
