Enjoy. Envision. Engage.
Those words set the stage for OSD’s annual Goals Retreat. Our small but mighty group gathered last Friday for a day of looking forward, dreaming big and planning the future of the company.

The morning session provided an opportunity for each person to share how he or she plans to contribute to the immediate goals of OSD for 2013. Reminiscent of “circle time,” we each spoke, listened, encouraged, and gave honest feedback to one another.

Emerging from the conversation was a common theme: our clients. OSD as a company and OSDers as individuals share a vision to engage our clients on a deeper level and provide not only excellent results, but create meaningful relationships. Only by understanding who our clients are, how their businesses work and what their goals are can we provide the best strategies and end products.

In the afternoon, we stepped out of today and into the possibilities of the future … to envision where we want to go. Teams considered questions such as how to:

  • facilitate collaboration,
  • invigorate creativity,
  • explore new service areas,
  • craft a home-away-from-home that is not only productive, but a lot of fun.

As each group presented an overview of its discussion, ideas popped around the room and a new list of shared goals began to emerge … inspire one another, make time for building relationships, and create a space for daily retreat from the bounds of a desk and computer.

Today’s business world is moving at a high rate of velocity, and it can be difficult to disengage from the urgency of our lives. Yet, a day to retreat … to be together … and look forward is necessary to see the forest through the trees.

Have you taken time recently to get away and consider where you want to be as an individual, an organization? If so, what did it look like for you? We’d love to hear your experience!
