Every company has unique reasons for using HubSpot. For some, it’s the best way to automate lead generation and nurturing activities. For others, it’s a user-friendly website content management system. However, there is one aspect of HubSpot that I encourage every user to try out: the social media tool. Here’s why:
1. You can view all your social channels at a glance
With the HubSpot social media tool, you can monitor all of your social channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) in one place. There are other tools that allow you to do that, but the HubSpot interface is unique because of its connection to the content. Scheduling a blog, for instance, is as easy as choosing it from a drop down menu. No more copying and pasting URLs.
2. You can publish the same message but modify by channel
Like with other tools, you can build and schedule posts in the HubSpot social media tool. However, HubSpot makes it really easy to write a post once, copy it to other channels, and then modify for each channel. For example, you can:
- Set a different publishing time and date for each one
- Add or remove @ mentions and hashtags
- Display different images (or no image)
3. You can monitor analytics easily
The reporting features show very simply which posts are doing better than others – in real time. It’s fun to watch the numbers once a post goes up! And you can choose what you want to see: comments, clicks, etc.
Watch the numbers and see how people interact with you. Then consider that against your overall marketing and business goals. If it’s not working for you, don’t waste your time or money doing it! (For more details on making that decision, see our e-book, 7 Ways to Waste Your Marketing Money)
In addition, we have used the HubSpot social analytics to test changes such as:
- Whether posts perform better with or without images
- Whether posts garner more interactions at certain times of the day
- Whether certain headline styles perform better than others
4. It connects social media with inbound marketing
For example, if someone who is a “lead” in your HubSpot contacts interacts with you on Twitter, HubSpot makes the connection and shows that. Whether it’s email, website content, or social content, all activity is shown on one page.
